This course will provide K-8 teachers with experience and knowledge of how to incorporate yoga and build community in the classroom. Participants will learn the basics of yoga including postures, breathing practices and attitudes, as well as discover how yoga postures and breathing practices can be utilized as a tool to refocus students’ attention and energy throughout the day. Students will experience community building activities, including talking circles, which they will be able to utilize in their classrooms to build strong community. Students will discover how the incorporation of yoga and community building in the classroom helps to increase students’ self-awareness, focus, and overall wellbeing. Hours: 5pm - 9pm
