Teachers invite students of all abilities into their classrooms. This course assists educators in meeting the special needs of students through an overview of abilities/disabilities. The course looks at needs reflected in today’s classrooms such as Autism, ADHD/ADD, and other areas that impact the learning environment. The use of technology and computers as a resource will be emphasized; therefore, access to the Internet during the course will be a central part to the class activities. Guest speakers will include parents, advocates, and professionals who work with children of varying abilities/disabilities. Special education program visits will also be included in the course.
