Natural History of Kettle Moraine (3 Credits)

This course will explore the aspects of the natural history of the Kettle Moraine State Forest along with the natural beauty of the area of the Southern unit of the Kettle Moraine. Students will explore how glaciation formed the area, unique geographical features, diverse ecological communities, as well as the plants and wildlife of the area. Field trips incorporating moderate nature hikes, guest speakers, and instructor interpretation will provide educators with numerous ideas and activities that can be implemented into the classroom. There will also be an opportunity for a canoe experience on Lulu lake through the Nature Conservancy.
