Traits, Modes, and Genres in the Writing Process (3 Credits)

This course offers teachers a framework in which to integrate the six traits, modes, and genres into the writing process. Learn to select literature and develop lessons that target specific areas for student growth. Get a handle on the latest jargon and techniques. Jigsaw it all together to form a picture perfect writing program for students in kindergarten to eighth grade. Select and apply appropriate rubrics and assessment tools and learn to give students descriptive feedback. Participants will develop effective strategies for teaching writing and have a great time doing it!
