Empowering Ourselves: Empowering Our Students (3 Credits)

With increasing school and social pressures, educators and students need guidance and proven techniques to empower themselves. Using hot topics in education today, this course is designed to empower teachers and students. Examples of topics include: emotional intelligence, creating cultures of kindness, leadership skills, and wellness for teachers and students. Teachers will be given the opportunity to fill their toolboxes with life skills they can utilize both in and outside the classroom. The class will consist of informal group discussions, sharing circles, guest speakers, and field trips.
